Pamela Coates-Vann, age 55 of Massillon, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, September 1, 2010. She was born on July 28, 1955 in Massillon the daughter of the late Johnnie Gray and Christine Redvine Coates. Pamela was a life long resident of Massillon and a 1973 graduate of Washington High School. She was employed at Head Start for over 30 years. Pamela was an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Johnnie Gray Coates, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Danny Lee Vann, her children Daniel I. (Nicole D.) Vann of Redmond, WA, Darius N. Vann and Tiara N. Vann both of Massillon; her grandchildren, Malachi, Dariyahna, and Marques II; and her sisters, Melody Coates – Olaye of New Jersey and Tonya M. (Innocent) Okolo of Akron and other relatives and close friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Shiloh Baptist Church at 12 PM (Noon). Her pastor, Rev. Anthony Robinson, Sr. will be officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the church from 10:30AM – 12 PM (Noon).
