Patricia "Tricia" (O'Grady) Brooks, 46, of Winchendon, formerly of Baldwinville died Friday morning March 27, 2015 in UMass Medical Center after an illness. Tricia was born in Brooklyn, NY March 17, 1969, daughter of the late Patrick O'Grady and Anita (Skoglund) Kwasny and lived in Templeton most of her life. Her husband Rodney "Rubber" Brooks died August 6, 2004. Tricia worked as a home health aide for many years. She was a long time member of the American Legion Post 373 Ladies Auxiliary of Baldwinville. She was an animal lover and avid champion of all underdogs. Tricia will be remembered as a dear friend, a loving sister and a social butterfly. She loved spending time with all of her friends and family. Tricia will be missed by her three siblings; Erin Hennigar and her husband Mark of Henniker, NH, Kathleen O'Grady-Blacquiere and her husband Gary of Winchendon, and Christopher O'Grady and his wife Meric of Orlando, FL, cousins; Scott, Shawn, and Shayne Skeean, her step-mother Alma O'Grady of Henniker, NH, her husbands children and family, as welll as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family. Tricia was also predeceased by her step-father Michael Kwasny. Relatives and friends are planning to honor and celebrate Tricia's life by gathering for visiting hours in the Lamoureux Fletcher and Smith Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner on Thursday April 2, 2015 from 4-6PM. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home starting at 6PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tricia's memory may be made to the Ahimsa Haven, PO BOX 73 Winchendon, MA 01475, or to the St. Labre Indian School for Children, PO Box 216 Ashland, MT 59003.
