Patricia Garrett, 85, passed away peacefully on Dec. 6, 2017 after years of serving as the beloved matriarch of her ever-growing family. We believe that Pat’s late husband, Hank, had waited long enough and called her home. She joins her husband of over sixty years, late daughter, Karen Murgo, and mother, Maggie in paradise. Pat now smiles over those she left here on earth, including her daughters: Kathleen, Laureen and Denise; Son-in-law, Gene, grandchildren: Bethanie, Jacalyn, Michael, Patricia, Garrett and Kelsey; and great-grandchildren: Alysa, Olivia, Patrick, Elias and Bryan.

Pat’s quick wit and nurturing nature made her loved by all she met. She found great pride in showing off her beautiful collections – her LENOX, her experiences and her family. She was especially fond of her canine companions, and through the years, you could find her propped up in an armchair with her faithful pup Foxy at her feet.

Each morning she began her day with a cup of English breakfast tea and crème, and each Christmas she’d enjoy her own box of chocolate covered cherries. Pat spent many evenings in the company of her bunko ladies and sisters from Beta Sigma Phi, sharing laughs, rolling dice and making strides for charity. She found great joy watching her grandchildren play in the pool, cooking for her husband and sewing. In addition to all the other great things about Pat, she held the record for best banana pudding in the entire world.

Strong-minded and full of sass, but balanced with fierce, unfailing love, Patricia Garrett was the wonder woman we all needed. She will be dearly missed.

If you’d like to honor Pat’s memory with a gift, please consider making a gift to Hospice of the Comforter here:

A visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 8 from 5-8 p.m., with a funeral service on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral home in Altamonte. She will be laid to rest next to her family at All Faith’s Memorial Park.
