Patrick Natale Tigano, devoted husband, cherished father, adored grandfather and beloved brother, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 27, 2016 after a lengthy illness.

Patrick was born March 11, 1927 in Port Chester, NY to Mae (Moroney) and Anthony Tigano. He lived and attended school in Rye, New York, graduating from Rye High School in 1944 before enlisting in the US Marine Corps. Patrick served his country during WWII as a sharp shooter with the First Division in the Pacific Theatre of Operations, stationed in both China and Guam.

Upon his return, he joined his father in running Tony's Service Station, his family's business, and continued to do so after his father's death.

He met Gloria Hintz as she ran across the station's gravel to try and catch a train to NY and broke the heel of her shoe. He came to her aid and the rest, as they say, is history. They were married in Rye, at the Church of the Resurrection, in 1952 and had been married for 64 years.

Patrick was very involved in the Rye Volunteer Fire Department where he was a Fire Warden. He was also a member of the Rye Golf Club and a devout parishioner at The Church of the Resurrection.

At age 45, he began a new career working for General Electric Credit Corporation. He was employed as a Systems Analyst and Designer for over 20 years at their headquarters in Stamford, CT, until his retirement in 1989.

He and Gloria relocated to Venice, Florida and built a new home in the Waterford Golf Club community, where Patrick perfected the golf game he so loved. He graciously and enthusiastically taught and passed on that love of the game to each one of his grandchildren. He was at his happiest walking and playing the course with them and watching their progress.

Patrick was a gentle man with a constant twinkle in his eye, love for life, and a kind word for everyone. He was a friend to everyone he met and will be deeply missed by those who knew him.

He was pre deceased by his sister,Kathleen(Coccola) and is survived by his wife, Gloria (Hintz), daughters; Patrice Domenie (Douglas) of Lyme, CT, Cynthia Lewis(Tim) of Valley Village, CA, grandchildren; Charles Domenie of Cape Elizabeth, ME, Lucy Domenie of Old Saybrook, CT, Henry Domenie of Essex, CT, Derek Lewis of Jamaica Plain, MA, Daniel Lewis of Valley Village, CA, Kristen Lewis of Valley Village, CA, and his sister, Eileen Ramspacher of Jupiter,FL.

The family would like to give a special and heartfelt "thank you" to the nursing staff at Chestelm Health and Rehabilitation Center in Moodus, CT, for their exceptional care and kindness towards Patrick during his final months.

A Memorial Mass and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at 11:00 AM, at The Church of the Resurrection, 910 Boston Post Road, Rye, NY with a reception to follow.
