1936 – 2016
Paul David Weyer age 80 of Gretna, NE passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 at his residence.
He was born on May 3, 1936 to Thomas Warren and Naomi Edith (Davenport) Weyer in Tarkio, MO. Paul was raised and schooled in Tarkio until 1945, when he moved with his family to Plattsmouth, NE. Paul started his career as a truck driver, driving cement trucks until he started working for Pamida. He drove for Pamida for over forty years. After Paul's father passed away, he moved to Omaha, NE with his mother, and siblings Bob, Edward, and Darlene. He met Harriet Bernice Schindeldecker and they were later married on December 11, 1965 in Omaha. Paul and Harriet made their home and raised their daughters in Omaha. In 2007, Paul and Harriet moved to Gretna.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years: Harriet Weyer of Gretna, NE; six daughters: Gale Bergstrom of Omaha, NE; Cheryl Wehde of Omaha, NE; Katherine Rodriguez and husband Vince of Omaha, NE; Carol Zeeck and husband James of Gretna, NE; Betty King and husband Rick of Gretna, NE; Cheri Powers and husband Rob of Council Bluffs, IA; twenty two grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sister: Darlene Cameron of Bellevue, NE; brother: Cecil Weyer of Kidder, MO; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Thomas and Naomi Weyer, six brothers: Ernest Weyer, Frank Weyer, Richard Weyer, Billy Weyer, Robert Weyer and Edward Weyer; five sisters: Agnes Thornton, Frances McGuire, Madeline Weyer, Hope Weyer, and an infant sister, and son-in-law: Gary Bergstrom.
Visitations will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 14, 2016 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth with Pastor Gary Werling officiating.
His final resting place will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth.
The Pallbearers will be Paul's grandsons: Jeff Bergstrom, Scotty Munsinger, Michael Munsinger, Richard Powers, Robert Harshbarger Jr., and David Logsdon.
