Having kept the faith and fighting the good fight, Paul Sims departed this life January 20, 2018, at the age of 85. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul Sims and Emily Poe Sims, brother, Donnie Sims and sister, Mary Ellen Sims Lampkin.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dian Contri Sims, his princesses, daughter Paula Sims Barry (Billy) and granddaughter, Elizabeth Dian Sims. He is also survived by his brother Alan Sims (Shirley) and his brother in law Larry J. Contri.

He was a member of Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church for over 40 years, during this time he served faithfully in every area of the church. He and Dian worked in the Children's Ministry teaching fourth and fifth grade girls.

Paul began his construction career with TD Little Electric and later became President of Southeast Electric. He continued his career with Blount Construction 1983-1993.

In June of 1993 Paul began his ministry of Congregational Care at Frazer United Methodist Church and served there until his retirement in February 2011. This was the highlight of his life, caring for the Frazer families. Paul loved God, loved people and was uncompromisingly obedient to his Lord. He can truly say "I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not only to me, but unto all them also that love His appearing."

Visitation will be in the Frazer Parlor on Wednesday, January 24, at 9 AM with the Memorial Service at 10 AM in the Sanctuary.

John Ed Mathison will officiate and the Pallbearers will be Frank Wright, Bill McGehee, Andy Harris, Keith Waldrop, Bill Stevens, Tom Vaught, Jody McClinton and Steve Johnson. The Honorary Pallbearers will be his Saturday Morning Bible Study Group.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Children of Hope 305 S. Perry Street, Montgomery, Al 36104 and Sav-A-Life, PO Box 241664, Montgomery, Al 36124
