Paul W. Hammond of Bow, passed away on November 3, 2017 at the age of 85.

Born on October 11, 1934, Paul was a proud lifelong resident of Bow N.H. After graduating from Concord High School in 1950, Paul worked first at the Odd Fellows Home, the Brick Tower Restaurant and finally at the N.H. State Hospital. He loved to fish and hunt with his brothers, uncles and father, going as far as Alaska in search of catching salmon. In later years he would attend basketball games and other sporting events at Bow High School. Paul was honored with a plaque from the Town of Bow for being "Bow Falcon's #1 Fan" in 1999 and an accompanying plaque was placed above his favorite seat in the Bow High School gymnasium. He was actively involved in the Town of Bow town meetings, served on the Building Advisory Committee and was a contributor to the Bow Heritage Commission Book. He was also a long time member of the Bow Men's Club and the Odd Follows. Paul leaves a lasting legacy through the Hammond Nature Preserve so that future generations may enjoy the wildlife, woodlands, pasture lands, wetlands & scenic views that his homestead had to offer. The Nature Preserve, containing 155 acres, was owned by the Hammond Family for over 200 years.
Paul was predeceased by his Mother and Father, Mabel and Ai Hammond, as well as his sister Ella Knapp, and two brothers Fred and Willie Hammond. He leaves behind nieces and nephews as well as numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Paul's life also included countless friends and acquaintances; all of whom will miss his friendly wave ad the pass his home on Bow Center Rd.

We wish to thank the Visiting Nurse Association and Harris Hill for the wonderful care and companionship that was provided to him in the last years of his life.

A memorial service for Paul will be held at the Bow Mill Methodist Church on 505 South St. in Bow on Thursday November 16 at 11:00am. A committal service will take place at the Evan Cemetery on White Rock Hill Road one hour prior at 10am.
