Paul Basil Williams, age 83, was born May 12, 1933 in Hugo, OK, the son of James Alvis Williams and Edgel (McComic) Williams and had lived all of his life in Hugo. His parents preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a son, Willie Williams (1986), a grandson, Kenneth Wayne Mandrell, a brother, Oscar Dean Williams and a sister, Mary Lee Ince.

Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War aboard the USS Keppler. He married Rita Sue Record on June 18, 1956 in Hugo. Paul retired from Weyerhaeuser Paper Mill, Valliant, OK where he had worked as a store room clerk. After retirement, he worked for 4 ½ years as a host at the Choctaw Nation Casino, Grant.

Paul was a member of the Heritage First United Methodist Church of Hugo. He had served as usher at Wesley Methodist Church, Hugo for many years and was also a member of the Business Committee and Finance Committee. Paul enjoyed fishing, camping, watching football and old westerns. He also enjoyed listening to Jimmy Swaggart music, going to church and serving his church.

SURVIVORS INCLUDE: his wife, Rita Sue Williams; son, Jeffrey Lynn Williams and wife, Kim of Waggoner, OK; daughter, Paula Sue Bounds and husband, John of Hugo and Trisha Wade and husband, Larry of Hugo; sister, Billie Jean Hensley of Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren, Chadley Williams, Jennifer Williams, Jacklyn Williams, Sheldon Williams, Kendra Moffitt, Kacy Baker, Caitlin Bounds, Jordan Bounds, Kirstin Bounds, Michael Harless, Michele Harless and Taylor Holbrook; 19 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends.

Interment: Mt. Olivet Cemetery ~ Hugo, OK
