Brown, Peggy Milburn
Peggy passed suddenly on Monday afternoon, July 17, 2017 in a local hospital in Montgomery after a series of health problems. She was born March 18, 1946 in Morristown, Tennessee and preceded in death by her parents, Albert Archibald Milburn and Mary Virginia Jones Milburn. She graduated from Central High School in Chattanooga and attended University of Tennessee Knoxville, Alpha Chi Omega, and graduated with honors from Auburn Montgomery. The funeral service will be held Friday, July 21, 2017 at 11:00 at Whitfield Memorial United Methodist Church, 2673 Fisk Road, Montgomery, with visitation one hour preceding. She will be fondly remembered by her husband, Brownie; two sons, Stephen (Louise) of Clayton, NC and Christopher (Carrie) of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Reilly, Madison, Nora, Nate, and Cole; sister, Ann Milburn Gilliland of Chattanooga, TN, and numerous nieces and nephews. Peggy was a faithful Air Force wife, mother, and grandmother traveling the country and working at the American Embassy in Copenhagen, Denmark as Community Liaison Officer. Upon returning to Montgomery, she was employed by Auburn Montgomery as the graphic designer and subsequently Instructor of Graphic Design in the Fine Arts Department. She was active in the Montgomery Art Guild (two term president), the Alabama Watercolor Society (historian and signature silver member), Georgia Watercolor Society (signature member) and Water Dimensions, Etc. that met in the Armory Learning Arts Center. She attended and sang in the choir at Dexter Avenue and then Whitfield United Methodist churches. Perhaps her greatest joy was making and buying loving gifts for her grandchildren. Her family is thankful for her countless friends and supporters. God bless this wonderful soul, in Jesus' name we pray.
