Mr. Petar Korda, 65, of Greensboro, died Thursday, June, 22, 2017 at Moses Cone Hospital.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday from four until six o'clock in the afternoon at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel.
Petar was born April 21, 1952 in Belgrade, Serbia, the son of Milos Korda and Dragica Patkovic Korda.
Petar immigrated to the United States in 1994 and became a citizen to the country he loved. He was employed by Apria Health Care, delivering, setting up and teaching the use of medical equipment. This was an ideal job for Petar as he was an outgoing, caring and kind person with a wicked sense of humor. He enjoyed all things related to cars, especially repairing and formerly driving rally race cars. Petar was very fond of dogs, especially his grand puppy Cooper, and was affectionately called the dog whisperer. While he had many friends in the US, he missed his friends from Serbia. Most of all, Petar loved his sons, mother and all of his family.
Surviving, in addition to his mother of Greensboro, are his sons, Milos Korda of Charlotte and Aleksandar Korda of Raleigh; sister, Dusica Korda-Sparks and brother-in-law, Jim Sparks (who was also his best friend) of Greensboro; former wife, Aleksandra Korda of Greensboro.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in Petar's name be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
