Peter Anthony "Pete" Cesaro of Annapolis, Maryland passed away in the Lords arms at 94 years old on January 4, 2018. Pete is the husband of the late Irene D. Cesaro; father of Rene, Anthony Glenn (Vicki), and Peter D. Cesaro (Nancy); brother of Fran Lindberg and Julius Cesaro and the late Nicholas Cesaro; grandfather of Victoria, Rose and Heather Cesaro and the late Tony Cesaro. He is also survived by one great-granddaughter. Pete was hired out of high school by a recruiter from Muirson Label Company who actually went to Pete's high school printing class and asked the teacher who was "best in class." He was hired immediately just months before graduation. Pete was proud of his accomplishments and said he never missed a day's work! Pete was a printer at Muirson Label Company, Stockbroker on Wall Street and a Night Manager/Reviser at the Government Printing Office in Washington, D.C. where he retired in 1978. He served in the U. S. Navy as a Gunners Mate on an Armed Guard Ship during World War II. His ship survived the Battle of Anzio when nobody on the ship thought they would. At age 17, Pete tried out for the Yankees and Dodgers. The Dodgers signed him to a Minor league contract. His hobbies and interests include baseball, softball, bowling, ping pong, handball, pinochle, poker and going to the casino. He was an uncanny winner and very lucky at everything. Family and friends will gather at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD 20715 on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 12 noon to 1 pm and the Memorial Service will begin at 1 pm. A private Interment with military honors will take place at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
