Peter J. Lynch, 73, of Stuart, FL, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014 at the Martin Medical Center, Stuart.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, he lived in Stuart for 17 years, coming from Jupiter/Tequesta, Florida. He moved to Florida from Massachusetts.
During the Vietnam War he served in the US Army and was a member of the Army Band.
Prior to retiring, he was a Fire Chief with the Palm Beach County Fire Department for five years and had been with the department for 15 years. He had been a fireman for 30 years also serving with the Belmont, Massachusetts Fire Department.
He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Stuart, the Stuart, Florida Community Band and the Stuart Ham Radio Club.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Norma A. Lynch of Stuart; three children and three step-children, Michele Ameno, Deborah Ameno and Patrick Ameno.
SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City.
