On Sunday, June 11, 2017 a seed was planted from which a beautiful angel will blossom. Philamena Vasta (Ciavardelli), 91, passed away while tending to the garden of her Glenside home. An active member of the community, Phil touched so many lives through her volunteer work at Abington Memorial Hospital, Montgomery County Meals on Wheels and St. Luke's Church. When she wasn't lending her time to others, she enjoyed walking, reading and vacationing with her family in Ocean City, NJ. Her strength and energy will be greatly missed by her children, Lynn (Frank), Jim (Evelyn), Debbie (Robert) and Cheryl (Karen); 8 grandchildren, Jon, Stephanie, Marc (Brittany), Lauren, Jim (Melissa), Madison, Xander and TJ ; and one surviving sibling, Lucy Scheurle. They are brought comfort knowing that she can now rest in peace with her beloved late husband, Vincent Vasta.
