Dr. Gilcrest was born on November 19, 1927 and passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017.

Dr. Gilcrest was a resident of Doylestown, Ohio at the time of passing.

A 1950 graduate of The Ohio State University, Philip obtained his M.D. in 1954, also at Ohio State, and then interned at both Mt. Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach Florida, and City Hospital in Springfield, OH.

A veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army Air Corp., he was a longtime member of the Doylestown United Methodist Church, Doylestown Lions, the OSU Presidents Club, Ohio Medical Association, and Ohio Academy of Family Practice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chippewa Local Schools, 56 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH 44230 or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, PO Box 4527, New York, NY 10163.
