Phyllis Carol Shoaf, was called to her heavenly home on February 27, 2017. She was blessed to live to 96 years of age.



A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, March 3, at 2:00pm at The Isle at Watermere, 101 Watermere Dr., Southlake, TX 76092.



Visitation will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home on Friday, March 3, from 4:30p.m. to 6p.m. A Private Committal will take place at a later date at DFW National Cemetery.



Carol was born on August 7, 1920 to parents, Ray and Buena Nitcher, in Pomona, Kansas. She was the oldest of five children. She met the love of her life, George, as a childhood friend at the age of 10 and “the rest was history”. They married on June 1, 1941 and celebrated 70 wonderful years of marriage. Their family was complete after the birth of daughters, Georgia and Arla. They shared a partnership of love and devoted their lives to their family of 4.



Carol was a very strong Christian and had an unrelenting faith. She often gave testimony of the Lord and spoke of the immensity of his grace. She prayed for everyone she knew, and often had list of those she knew were in need of prayer. Carol was a loving wife and mother. After the Lord, was the love for her family. Whether it was through sharing one of her fabulous meals or crocheting a afghan, she never failed to show her family how much they meant to her. Carol had a love for all sports. From Tennis to Basketball and Football, she loved cheering on her favorite teams. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Carol leaves an indelible mark in the heart of those who were blessed to have known her in her life journey.



Carol is preceded in death by her husband, George L. Shoaf; parents, Ray and Beuna Nitcher; and brother, Max Nitcher.



Left to cherish Carol’s memory are her daughters, Georgia Phinney, and her husband, Brent, and Arla Seale, and husband, Michael; Grandchildren, Jason Phinney and wife, Heather, Jill Phinney- Smith, and husband, Steven, Josh Seale, and wife, Amanda, Mandy Cormier and husband, Cody, and Lindy Prine and husband, Bobby; great grandchildren, Austin, Will, Blake, Blaine, Annie, Abby, Allie, Stella and Molly; Siblings, Mary Lea Wright, Rowland Nitcher, and Ray Nitcher; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
