Phyllis Olive Bauerle, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church where she served in the choirs, on the boards, and as a Sunday School Teacher. She retired from L.S. Ayres Company in 1989. She was involved with the formation of The ARC of Fort Wayne. She had served as a hospice volunteer and in the Red Cross Blood Donor Program for several years. Phyllis was known for her great stories.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Thomas Bauerle (Tuesday), of Japan; daughters, Susan Henze (David), of Evansville and Heidi Bauerle, of Fort Wayne; and grandchildren, Adam, Aaron, Wyatt, and Pippa. She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Bauerle; son, Daniel J. Bauerle; sister, Betty Royer; and brother, Walter Rabus.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Klaehn, Fahl, and Melton Funeral Home (420 W. Wayne Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802). Funeral Service will be on Friday, August 4, 2017 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church (729 W. Washington Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46802) at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery (2507 Engle Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809).

Preferred memorial are to the St. John Evangelical Church, The ARC, or Visiting Nurse Home and Hospice.
