Reverend Mardian was born on June 15, 1918 and passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018.

Reverend Mardian was a resident of Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the time of passing.

After attending country school, he entered minor seminary at Saint John's University in Collegeville, MN.

In addition to pastoral assignments, Father Mardian was proud to have served as chaplain to the South Dakota Knights of Columbus and as an honorary chaplain to the United States Army.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be prayed for Father Mardian on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 beginning at 9:30 AM at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Sioux Falls. Interment will be in a family plot at St. Mary Cemetery in Aberdeen, SD. Father Michael Griffin, pastor of St. Mary Parish, will pray the committal rite at 2 PM. A liturgical wake service and rosary led by Father Edward Anderson, chaplain at Avera Prince of Peace, will be prayed on Tuesday, March 13 at the Sacred Heart Chapel within Avera Prince of Peace at 6:00 PM. The wake will be preceded by visitation beginning at 4:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, they request that memorials be directed to Avera Prince of Peace or to the poor.
