Priscilla B. Rivers ORANGE- Priscilla B. (Bradford) Rivers, 87, of 91 West Myrtle Street, died early Sunday morning, December 26, 2010 at home, following an illness, with her loving husband at her side. Born in Spencer on August 17, 1923, she was a daughter of Willis and Lucy (Perry) Bradford and grew up in Spencer and the Brookfields and moved to Orange in 1939. She was a graduate of Orange High School in 1941 and then received her Bachelor's from the University of Massachusetts in 1944. In 1966, Priscilla earned her Master's degree from Boston University. Priscilla married Robert Rivers in 1945 and have enjoyed their 65 years together. A guidance counselor at Winthrop High School, she retired after 25 years. She was a member of the Orange Central Congregational Church. Priscilla enjoyed gardening and wood working, and was an avid photographer. Survivors include her husband, Robert Rivers of Orange; daughters, Lucy Whitmarsh and her husband, Jim Kane, of Silver City, New Mexico and Rosalind Rivers and her husband, Richard Krause, of East Amherst, New York; a son, Robert Rivers, and his wife Cynde Collins, of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, David Whitmarsh, William Krause, and Allison Krause; several great-grandchildren; and several great, great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 from 5-7 p.m. at Witty's Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange. Funeral services will be held Friday morning, December 31, 2010 at 10 :00 a.m. at Witty's Funeral Home in Orange with Rev. Dr. Megan Leary of the Orange Central Congregational Church officiating. Interment will follow in South Cemetery, Orange. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Gardner VNA, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.
