R. Norwood Leet, 95, of Louisville passed away on January 9, 2017. He was born in Oldham County to Edgar Roscoe and Eliza Crum Leet and was raised on a farm.
Norwood spent 4 years serving in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII, during that time he patrolled the coast of southern Florida.
He passionately loved flowers and spent most of his life working with them. He owned Leet's Flower Cottage on Frankfort Avenue for many years and won several awards for floral design. He was invited twice to Washington, D.C. to help decorate the White House for Christmas. He was a member of the Jeffersontown Rotary Club. He and his wife, Jeanne, loved to travel extensively and went to several different South American countries and Europe before she became ill.
Norwood was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne; brother Irl Dean Leet (Genevieve) and sister Coleen Pittman (Harmon).
Left to cherish Norwood's memory is his brother, David Leet (Betty); and several nieces and nephews; Michael Leet, Gayle Eury, Cheryl Fidler, Deborah Bard, Mark Pittman, Dennis Leet and Kevin Leet.
There will a visitation held from 4pm - 8pm on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Arch L. Heady-Cralle, 2428 Frankfort Avenue with the funeral on Friday, January 13, 2017 in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady-Cralle at 11am, burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
