Ralph Carl Ogden, III, stepped into the presence of his savior, Jesus Christ, for all eternity on April 23, 2017. He will forever be remembered for his big smile, his welcoming eyes, his funny puns, his excitement for life, and his tremendous love of God and his family.

Ralph was born on May 2, 1953 to Ralph Carl and Alma Ogden in Farmington, New Mexico. An adventurous young man, Ralph moved to Oregon on a basketball scholarship to Columbia Christian College. While working a summer job in Modesto prior to transferring to Pepperdine, he met his beloved bride of 42 years, Joni (Ellis) Ogden. In just 6 months they were married and began their beautiful story of family and faith. Over his years, Ralph poured his life into loving his wife and four children, Samantha, David, Daniel and Alexandra. His family was his everything; he spoke often of how God had blessed him immeasurably with the gift of family. His joy in family multiplied to overflow as he gained children-in-law and ten precious grandchildren.

Ralph diligently applied his mind, heart and excellence to all areas of his life, including his professional life. Ralph graduated 1st in his class from McGeorge School of Law and for over 37 years, spent many focused hours serving his clients in real estate, business, and estate planning. He was thorough, wise, incredibly sharp and a pillar of excellence in the legal community. In 2011, Ralph's son Daniel came to work for him which ultimately transitioned into a successful father-son partnership known as Ogden Law Firm, PC. Ralph pursued God relentlessly, never wavered in his faith, and consistently read his Bible to search and know God's truth. Like the meaning in his last name, Oak, he was a solid, deeply rooted, protective covering for his family.

Ralph had a passion for adventure, a zest for travel, a wonder of nature and a desire to experience the beauty of God's creation. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and exploring the world with Joni by his side. He and Joni enjoyed many special trips abroad together, most recently along with their kids and grandkids to Europe. Ralph treasured a beautiful sunset and was compelled to share it with others. He savored life; fine food and wine, music, beauty and art. Ralph possessed a tireless creative energy that he applied to envisioning and carrying out countless projects to beautify his surroundings for others. He possessed a great love for people and was driven to care for both the able and the weak alike.

Ralph loved his family dearly. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joni, three of his children, Samantha Smith (Josh), Daniel Ogden (Tina), and Alexandra Restrepo (Eric), and ten treasured grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Londa Ogden of Seattle, Karon DeAguero and Kevin Ogden, both of New Mexico. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Alma, and his eldest son, David. We know he is overjoyed to reunite with these lost loved ones, especially his son David whom he loved and missed deeply.

Ralph will be tremendously missed here on earth, but with the joy, hope and peace of Jesus we are confident he is in heaven experiencing the fullness and victory of Jesus' love. We will be celebrating his life at Cross Point Community Church on Saturday, April 29th at 10am. There will be a reception immediately following the service.
