BLOOMINGTON - Ralph William Krueger, 91, of Pekin passed away Thursday, May 4th, at 2 p.m. surrounded by his family. Ralph was born July 1, 1925 to Gephardt and Luella Bauer Krueger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Stephen and Mark Krueger; and siblings Richard, Robert, Lila, and Paul. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Corinne Crosby Lawson Krueger; a son Daniel (Karen) Krueger, Naperville; daughters-in-law Cheryl Krueger, Normal; and Regina Krueger, Olathe, Kansas. Also surviving are six grandchildren Dan (Jennifer) Krueger, Pontiac; Scott (Amber) Krueger, San Antonio, Texas; Angela (Neal) Borzea, Boise, Idaho; Jennifer Simon, Olathe, Kansas; Kris Krueger, Itasca; and Lindsey Krueger, Naperville. Ralph is also survived by nine great grandchildren; Kristin, Nicholas, Stephen, and Jason Krueger; Garrett, Avery, and Laurel Borzea; Isabel and Lucas Simon; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ralph was a World War II veteran in the First Cavalry. Ralph grew up in the Stanford, llinois area, and lived in Normal for 26 years where he was an Illinois State University police officer, as well as a member of the First United Methodist Church. Ralph and Corinne also lived in Cape Coral, Florida for 20 years before returning to Pekin.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 12th at 11 a.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home, with the family meeting friends one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will immediately follow.
