Raymond was born on September 2, 1931 and passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019.

Raymond was a resident of Madrid, Iowa at the time of passing.

He attended the rural schools of Garfield Township and graduated from Garner High School in 1949.

Ray served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1953 to 1955 and liked to recall how Elvis Presley "replaced" him two years later at Friedberg in Company A, 40th Tank Battalion.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 7, 2019 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1001 9th Ave. S., Clear Lake with Rev. Fr. John Gossman as celebrant and Msgr. Burial will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Duncan with military rites by the Garner Veterans Ceremonial Unit. Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 7 P.M., Friday, December 6th at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St., Garner with a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus rosary at 4 P.M. Visitation will resume one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association , National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI of Iowa) or the Knights of Columbus St. Patrick's Council #7898.
