Raymond P Zink age 92 of Lincoln returned to his eternal home Wednesday, April 19, 2017 surrounded by loved ones in the home he designed and built. He was born October 2, 1924 to Philip and Elizabeth Zink in Omaha. He attended St. Joseph grade school and Creighton Prep High School. He married Mary Wilmes of Marion, Ohio on October 3, 1953.





Ray served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Korean War and worked construction in Alaska and the Yukon during WW II. He graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from Notre Dame in 1949. He worked as head engineer at Midwest Steel Works from 1953-1993 and was the president of the company when he retired. Ray was a member of the Cathedral of the Risen Christ in Lincoln since 1954 and served the Lord in weekly perpetual adoration for 56 years.





Ray was an avid hunter and fisherman and shared his passion for the outdoors with those he loved. He enjoyed reciting poems, that he had learned throughout his schooling.





Survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Zink; children, Diana Horne of Sterling, Mark and Susan (Lewis) Zink and grandsons, Connor and Justin of Lincoln, and Michele and Dave Harris and grandsons, AJ, Kyle, and Joshua of Austin, TX; sister, Eleanor Krause; sister in-law, Jean Zink and many loved nieces and nephews.



VISITATION Friday, April 21 starting at 4:30pm with a ROSARY at 6pm Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.



MASS OF CHRISITAN BURIAL Saturday, April 22 at 10am Cathedral of the Risen Christ 3500 Sheridan Blvd. Interment Lincoln Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to the Lincoln Children’s Zoo.
