Raymond Fiaschi, 97, of Binghamton, previously of Zoa Ave., Johnson City and Powers Rd., Conklin, passed away Wednesday June 28th at Good Shepherd Fairview Home. He was predeceased by first wife Stella Nawoychick, second wife Betty Tyler his parents, Ina Giordani and Louis Fiaschi, and his sisters Anna Hinch and Loretta Kasson. He is survived by his daughter Judith De Angelo and her husband Anthony De Angelo. He is also survived by his step daughter Sheri Tyler and her son Michael Tyler. Surviving are three married grandchildren and their spouses: Nicholas and Elizabeth De Angelo, Douglas and Katie De Angelo, Jennifer and Steven Baxter. Also surviving are 7 adoring great-grandchildren: Isabella, Jack and Luke; Gianna, Mark, and Joseph; and Donovan. Ray served honorably in WW II as a Technical Sergeant in North Africa and Italy. He worked for the U.S. Postal service until his retirement 40 years ago. Then he was able to enjoy his favorite past times - golfing, bowling and attending local big band dances. The family will receive guests at Chase Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Wednesday July 5th from 4 - 7 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church, Main St. Johnson City, Thursday, July 6 at 9:30 AM. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family wishes to sincerely thank Good Shepherd Fairview home for their loving and excellent care during Ray's three month stay. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in his memory to the Living Care Fund, Good Shepherd Fairview Home, 80 Fairview Ave., Binghamton 13904. This will assist those elderly residents with financial need.
