Becky Keefe passed away on Dec. 20, surrounded by her family. Becky was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa on April 10, 1927. She met her husband Don in Oskaloosa and they had two children, Mary and Jeff. She began with Northwestern Bell, later AT&T, when she was 16-years-old and continued with them for over four decades.

In 1977 she moved to Phoenix and continued to work for AT&T until she retired in 1992. Tired of retirement Becky and Don began work at Walmart, where Don worked until his passing in 2006. Becky continued to work at the 19th Avenue and Bell Road store until June of this year. She was a beloved greeter.

She enjoyed her time with the telephone company and her second career with Walmart. She was the smile that greeted thousands of customers. She made many friends while at Walmart, both with her customers and fellow workers.

In the last few months, Becky became sick and could no longer work. She traveled to La Crescenta, California to be with her daughter's family, and later to Sierra Vista, Arizona to be with her son and his partner Michael.

The most important thing to Becky was family. She loved her kids, nieces and nephews, and her grandkids were the center of her universe. She raised her family to have caring hearts.

Becky is survived by her daughter, Mary (MeMe), son Jeff, sons-in-law Michael and Mark, grandkids Molly, Jessy, and Charly, and granddaughter-in-law Sabrina. Her nephew Bob Richmond and his wife Karen, and several great nieces and nephews. And her lifelong friends, Mildred Thornbury, Martha Veerman, Bev Van Alst, Shirley Hunt and Debby Hauter. She was preceded in death by her mother Ethel, dad Charles, brothers Jack and Bob and sister Mary, husband Don and friends Darlene and Norm Tucker, Elda and Jean Ferryman, Jim Thornbury and Ken Schultz.

Services will be held at 1p.m., Thursday, Dec. 28, at Phoenix Memorial Park, 200 W. Beardsley Rd. Phoenix. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Prom Plus at promplus.org or Prom Plus, 2900 Community Avenue, La Crescenta, CA 91214.
