Reva Marler, age 81, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Foutainview Manor Memory Care, Granite City, IL. Reva was born on March 20, 1934 in Hornersville, MO, a daughter to the late Joe and Katy (McManis) Edwards. Reva was a faithful member of First United Pentecostal Church in Granite City, IL. She loved going to church, listening to gospel music, her morning coffee and eating ice cream. She also enjoyed watching game shows and watching the news. Reva loved life, she loved to laugh, but most of all she loved her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, Reva was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gradie Marler, who passed away on December 6, 2010, and her two brothers. She is survived by her loving children, Grata (Gleason) Knox, Stanley (Denise) Marler and Jennifer (Keith) Peck all of Granite City, IL; proud grandmother to Kristin Beam, Anthony Marler, Karen Sipes, Katelyn Peck, James Marler, Ashley Peck and Krystle Marler; and proud great-grandmother to Klayton Beam, Lacy Beam, Gavin Sipes, Keira Sipes and Greysen Marler; extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, IL. In celebration of her life, funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Irwin Chapel with Pastor Mark Maynard officiating. Reva will be laid to rest, next to her devoted husband, Gradie, at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, IL. Memorial donations may be given to the family; a memorial bench in honor of Reva and Gradie will be purchased and placed by their graves. Donations will be accepted at the funeral chapel.
