Rex was born on February 25, 1929 and passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016.

Rex was a resident of Huntsville, Alabama at the time of his passing.

Powell graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute now Auburn with a BA degree and from Georgia Tech with an MS degree in Aerospace Engineering.

He was married to Mary.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday September 17 at Maple Hill Cemetery with Dr. Cary Speaker officiating. Visitation will follow at 10:30 in the Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church 1818 Foundation 307 Gates Ave. Huntsville AL 35801.
