Richard ("Dick") Burrows of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on December 19th, 2017 at age 87. Beloved husband of Dorothy Davis Burrows, and loving father to Mark Burrows and his wife Lisa of Fort Wayne, Karen Mariscal and her husband Brian of Wellesley, Massachusetts, Laura Rao and her husband Mohan of Fort Wayne, and Martha Burrows of Westfield, Indiana. Dick also is survived by 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, plus his brother Peter Burrows and his wife Miriam of Silver City, New Mexico.
Dick was an avid runner, and was one of the first people in the neighborhood to take up the jogging craze in the 1960s. Dick ran several marathons, and he also enjoyed golfing and sailing on Lake George. Dick also loved music, and played his piano every day after he retired.
He was a life-long sports fan, and never ceased to be thrilled by Michigan football. Dick graduated from Albion College, and graduated from the University of Michigan Law School, where he met Dorothy, who was beginning her nursing career.
He spent his entire career working for commercial banks, beginning his career at the Continental Bank in Chicago, and the Irwin Union Bank in Columbus, Indiana, followed by Peoples Trust Bank in Fort Wayne. In 1995, Dick retired as president of State Bank, Defiance, Ohio.
