Mineral Point - Richard Gary "Rich" Kieler, age 70, of Mineral Point, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.

Rich proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Rich started his career as a lineman at Wisconsin Power & Light / Alliant Energy where he worked for over 20 years.

He enjoyed spending time with friends playing cards, riding ATVs, or having a beer while sharing stories.

Rich is survived by his 3 sons Ric of Madison, Ben of Mineral Point, John (Leah) of Ridgeway; special friend Evie Evans; his brothers Gene (Linda) Kieler; Dave (Bonnie) Kieler; his sisters Shirley (Ed) Seffrood and Sharon (Dave) Farster; his grandchildren Breanne, Allison, Clayton, and Jessie.

He was preceded in death by his parents Wilfred and Daisy Kieler and one brother in infancy, John.

A celebration of Richard's life will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point.

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the Doctors and Nursing staff at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials be made to the William S. Middleton Memorial Hospital of Madison, WI.
