Gaudion, Richard H. "Dick", 92, died Tuesday 16 January. Born in East Rochester, NY in 1925, he was the last surviving child of Orpha (Gascoyne) Gaudion and William Thomas Gaudion; predeceased by his brothers Donald A. Gaudion and Harold W. Gaudion. His lasting legacy will be a faith-filled life and the enduring love of his wife of 67 ("and one half") years, Elizabeth "Betty" (Byrnes) Gaudion who survives. Theirs was a love story like no other. All who knew them will agree. Together, they were the parents of five children; Thomas J. (Nancy) of Dayton, John (Barb) of CT, Joan McKinney (Donovan) of Columbus, Mary Beth Thomas (Bob) of Centerville and Anne Ecklar (Joe) of Englewood. He was a doting grandfather to ten grandchildren; Amy Neururer (Matt), Diane Shearer (Tim), Jim Gaudion (fiance Lauren), Molly and Ellie McKinney, Scott and Tim Gaudion, Megan and Logan Ecklar and Emily Thomas. Their love increased with three great-grandchildren; Dylan, Charlie and Katarina. Dick was a proud Navy Airman, a WWII veteran, and kept his love of all-things aviation throughout his life, most recently as a volunteer at the National Aviation Hall of Fame at the Air Force Museum. He and Betty had an enormous amount of friends from St. Lawrence University and Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity, Siesta Key, Saint Charles Borromeo parish, Oak Creek, and anyone who met them. Friends may call at Tobias Funeral Home on Sunday, 21 January, from 2-5 pm. Visitation will follow on Monday, 22 January, one hour before the 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Fr. Gerald Haemmerle, presider. Private interment at David's Cemetery. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff and nurses at Kettering Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the USO, Honor Flight or the charity of your choice. Condolences may be sent to www.tobiasfuneralhomes.com.
