Richard D. Lewis, age 91, formerly of Spencer, passed away at 10:06 P.M. on Saturday, March 28, 2015, in Greenfield. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on Jan. 28, 1924, the son of Herman C. & Georgia (Smith) Lewis. He was an Air Force Veteran, serving during World War II. He was in sales during his careers, owner & operator of Lewis Hardware, worked as a manager at Citizen's Gas in Spencer, and also served as a Justice of the Peace, all in Spencer. He retired from Auburn Plastics in Indianapolis. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Presbyterian Church, both of Spencer. He was a member of the local legendary golf foursome, Hickam, Languell, Hackworthy, Lewis.

He is survived by his two sons, Michael Lewis of Jacksonville, FL and Timothy (Barbara) Lewis of Shelbyville, a brother, Howard Lewis of Texas, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne (Gray) Lewis, four brothers, Kenneth, Robert, Fred, & Paul Lewis, and a sister, Virginia Hicks.

Funeral service will be held at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, Pastor David Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
