Richard P. Mueller, 84, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Kingston Care Center. Born on November 29, 1932, in Fort Wayne, he was the only son of the late Rudolph and Gertrude (Mertz) Mueller. Richard proudly served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army having been stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas, for two years. He was a Journeyman Machine Rebuilder with International Harvester for over 30 years, retiring in 1983. He was one of the founders and owners of H&W Machine Repair for over 20 years, retiring in 2008. He was the Chairman of the Lutheran School Bus Committee and a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church where he was the head of the board of properties for the church and school, active in the Men's Club, and assisted with ground maintenance. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lois (Brown) Mueller of Fort Wayne; children, Susan Molinski of Ocala, Fla., Pastor Mike (Jeanne) Mueller of Warsaw, Barry (Debbi) Walker of Fort Wayne, Pastor Mark (Pastor Deanna) Mueller of DeLand, Fla., and Scott Mueller of Fort Wayne; 17 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his son, Chris Walker. Funeral Service will be 11am on Monday, August 7, 2017 at Concordia Lutheran Church, 4245 Lake Ave., with calling one hour prior. Rev. Doug Croucher officiating. Calling will also be 4-7pm on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne.
