After a brief illness, Robbie Lamont Freeman passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 surrounded by his family. Robbie was born November 24, 1947, in Sandersville, Georgia. As the son of a Methodist minister, he lived in various towns throughout South Georgia. After graduating from Georgia Southern College, Robbie served in the United States Army before moving to Atlanta, Georgia. Robbie began working for Phenix Supply Company in 1972, and served as President until 2013. During his 45 years in the dry cleaning industry, Robbie served on the TCATA Board of Directors for 12 years and as the TCATA President from 1996-1998. In 2005, he was honored as the recipient of the J Morry Friedlander Award for Outstanding Dedication and Service to TCATA. Robbie lived his life by simple beliefs: Love your family, treat people with respect and work hard for anything you want to achieve. These beliefs were evident as he related to his beloved family, friends, co-workers, customers and anyone who came in contact with him. Robbie is survived by his parents, Ramus and Betty Freeman; his loving wife of 46 years, Pennie; siblings, Karen Watson (Glenn), Steve Freeman (Sally) and Kristi Fuss (Scott); children, Brandon Freeman (Jules), Jimmy Freeman (Adrianne) and Alyson Freeman; granddaughter, Evelyn Freeman; along with a cherished uncle, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 13, 2017 from 1:00-2:00pm at Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church, 2902 W. Fletcher Ave, Tampa with a service to follow at 2:00pm.
