Robert A. Hitchcock, 81, went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2017. He was predeceased by his parents, Howard & Edith Hitchcock; brother, Bill Hitchcock. He was born on June 20, 1935 in Oneonta, NY and married Patricia Strader on December 25, 1957. He is survived by his loving family, wife, Patricia; five children, Robin, Perry, Lisa, Amy and Shannon; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Robert proudly served in the US Navy for 6 years. He was self employed and owned his own painting business for 40 years in Binghamton of which he retired from in 2002. Bob loved to go on hunting trips- he hunted in Wyoming, Idaho, Canada and even went on a safari trip in Africa. He enjoyed fishing trips to Sandy Pond, woodworking and his summers spent in NY and his winters spent in Florida. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 10:00 until the time of service at 11:00 at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson NY. Entombment will follow in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations to the Central Baptist Church, 1606 State Rt. 12 Binghamton , NY 13901.
