Niantic- Robert "Bobby" Breau Sr., 74, of Niantic, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London, CT surrounded by his loving family. He was an avid Red Sox, Giants and UCONN fan. His family was his most important treasure in his life and he was so loved. Bobby was born January 14, 1941 in New Bedford, MA and moved to CT many years ago. He was the son of the late Emery and Doris (Menard) Breau. He worked at HPC, once located in New Britain, for many years. In 1979 he bought Bobby's Place in New Britain and was an owner/operator for 21 years. In 2000 he moved to Niantic. Since retirement was never in his plan, he opened Bobby's Place in Niantic and was owner/operator until 2014. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Ruth (Youmans) Breau; daughters, Linda Petroka and her husband David of Farmington, Sherry Brzostowski and her husband Kaz, of East Hampton, Carole Dufour and her husband Michael, of Colchester; a son, Robert Breau Jr., and his fiancée Stacie Albert of New Britain; grandchildren, Maegan and Shawn Brzostowski, Tyler and Brandon Dufour, Robby Breau III and Ivan Petroka. He is also survived by his sister Annette Albert and husband Bob of Arlington, VT, brothers, Emery Breau of East Berlin and Richard Breau and wife Darlene of East Granby and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Thomas L.
