Robert C. Reinneck, 87 of Glen Carbon, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Elmwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Maryville surrounded by his family. Robert was born on September 5, 1927 in Mascoutah, IL, a son to the late Martin O. and Alma (Funk) Reinneck. Robert was a truck driver for over 35 years for Growmark in Bloomington, IL until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of Eden United Church of Christ in Edwardsville; Edwardsville Moose Lodge; Edwardsville Masonic Lodge #99; Edwardsville V.F.W. and the Edwardsville American Legion. In his free time Robert loved to be outside where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and tending to his garden. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Phyllis, a good day's work and a good meal. But most of all he loved his family and cherished spending time together. He will be remembered for his kind heart and all the special times he spent with family and friends. He is survived by and will be missed by his loving wife of nearly 61 years; Phyllis (Eckhardt) Reinneck, whom he married on August 7, 1954; sons, Robert L. and (Toyi) Reinneck of Troy, IL, Wayne and (Debbie) Reinneck of Edwardsville, IL, Steve and (Deann) Reinneck of Edwardsville, IL; grandchildren, Jason and (Stephanie) Reinneck of Glen Carbon, IL, Brook and (Chris) Stutz of Alton, IL, Kyle Reinneck of Edwardsville, IL, Alexander Reinneck of Carbondale, IL, Ross Reinneck of Edwardsville, IL; great-grandchildren, Alexa Shreve, Conner Stutz; brother, Vernon and (Carolyn) Reinneck; sisters, Shirley Martin, Ethel Weber; numerous nieces, nephews and many other extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents Robert was preceded in death by his brothers; Oscar Reinneck and Allen Reinneck. Friends may call on Monday, March 30, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon. In celebration of his life, services will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor John Roberts officiating. Burial will follow with military rites at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorials are suggested to the Wounded Warriors Project or the Alzheimer's Association.
