Robert Chester Walgren, age 64 of Brookfield, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Pershing Memorial Hospital.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 12:00 pm at the Immaculate Conception Church, Brookfield with Fr. Jerry Kaimann officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Brookfield. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am on Friday until time of service. Memorials are suggested to the Robert Walgren Memorial Fund in care of Jane Walgren, to be distributed among Roberts's favorite charities and causes, and may be left at or sent to the funeral home, 216 Linn Street, Brookfield, Missouri 64628. Robert Chester, son of Chester Alvin Walgren and Rosa Mary (Gall) Walgren, was born on April 2, 1953 in Brookfield, Missouri. On September 5, 1987 he was united in marriage to Jane Ann Marlay at the Immaculate Conception Church, Brookfield.

Bob was a long time member of the Immaculate Conception Church. He was a fourth degree in the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Tri-Cap handicap association, a past president of the Kiwanis Club, as well as a past member of the Elks Club. Bob spent several years as an Insurance salesman and appraiser. He attended accounting courses at Northeast Missouri State University and spent many years as Linn County Treasurer. Most importantly, Bob spent his life giving to others. He made sure that everyone around him was made to feel special and loved, and he lived for his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Jane, of the home; Anitra and Tony Crisp and their children Kaitlyn and Jaden; Mary and Chad Schmidt and their children Drake and Gauge; Chaz Walgren and fiancé Natalie Telge; Travis and Sam Walgren and their children Albany and Hazel; Tua; Winnie;
Katelynne; and a multitude of foster children

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Chester Alvin Walgren, mother, Rosa Mary Walgren; brother Clifford Walgren; and granddaughter Kaylee Ann Crisp
