Robert Lee Maybury passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 with his family by his side. Bob was born on November 5, 1941 in Hamilton, Ohio to Louise Maybury (nee Preckett) and Andrew Maybury (both deceased). After graduating from Hamilton High in 1959, Bob joined the United States Air Force in 1960. He was assigned to several different stations before ending up with the 866th Radar in Tonopah, Nevada. Bob was honorably discharged in February 1964 as Airman 1st Class.
Bob married the love of his life, Caroline (nee Belcher) in March 1967. They lived a happy life until she preceded him in death after 23 years of marriage. Bob is survived by his son Michael (Melanie) Maybury, daughter Melanie (Mike) Wages. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Elisabeth, Benjamin, and Meghan Wages.
A police officer by passion, Bob worked for the Nye County Nevada Sheriff's Office, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Deerfield Beach Florida Police Department, and the University of Dayton Police Department, where he retired in 1995. He also worked on computers for NCR, McDonnell Douglas and STC Computer Repair.
Bob was a member the Waynesville Masonic Lodge 163 where he was a Past Master, Lebanon Chapter #5, Lebanon Council #134 and Lebanon Commandery 22. He was also a member of the Montgomery County FOP Lodge 104 and Waynesville Post 615 of the American Legion. He attended the Waynesville and Lebanon United Methodist churches.
In his spare time, Bob loved to travel to Walt Disney World in Florida, work on with his model railroad trains, have Tuesday morning breakfasts with his Air Force buddies, and spend time with his grandchildren.
