Surrounded by her family at 6:42 PM on February 18, 2016 Robin Adkins Wheeler gained her wings to go be with her dad and grandparents at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. At Temple she won her fight against cancer but lost the war to surgery complications.
She was born on January 4, 1968 at Oak Hill.
Robin leaves behind her husband of 28 years, Bob; her two children, daughter Ashley and son Robert and her precious grandson Da’Koda James. She was the daughter of Norma Flint and the late Bob Adkins; sister, Stacey Treadway (Scott) and brother, Aaron Flint. Her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Sharon Barrett; special nephew and nieces, Moe and Michele Helmick, Scotty Treadway, Nikolas Treadway, Elizabeth Helmick, Jon Helmick, Tristan Treadway and Sara Helmick; special friends, Jeanne Stook and husband, Joe, and Linda Massey and husband, Richard.
Robin and her husband were co-owners of J R Electric and Plumbing in Oak Hill.
In her spare time Robin loved genealogy, quilting, and camping with her family. From the time she was a young girl her favorite music group was Alabama. She loved riding her motorcycle.
The light of Robin’s life was her grandson, Da’Koda, whom she devoted her last two years to.
She will be forever missed but always in our hearts.
Pallbearers will be Scott, Scotty and Nikolas Treadway, Mike Barrett, Moe and Elizabeth Helmick.
Funeral services will be held at 12 PM noon on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Bishop Sam Callaway officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
The family will receive friend from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the funeral home.
