Rodger White passed away in the early morning hours of April 17, 2017 at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa Fla. Rodger was born July 6, 1947 to his parents, Hal and Margaret White. Rodger is survived by his mother, Margaret; his two sisters, Debbie and Mitzie and their husbands, Joe and Bill; his sons, Rodger II and Travis; his granddaughter, Sierra; his nieces, Shanna and Jessie; his nephew, Chad; his former wife and good friend, Kathleen White and his faithful companion, a chocolate lab named Caballo ( kah vy oh). He graduated from Venice High School in 1965. Rodger enlisted in the Air Force and is a Vietnam Veteran. He attended the University of South Florida and graduated with a BA in Business Administration. Rodger was employed by Bush Gardens as the head of the Risk Management department. He was with Busch for 20+ years and was a valued employee. After retirement, he helped his son Travis develop 20 acres in Brooksville Fla. where they built a house together. They have 6 to 8 momma cows, one bull and one horse that his granddaughter rides. Throughout his life, Rodger enjoyed many outdoor activities. He was an avid fisherman and co-owned a sailboat with his high school friend, Rudy. He also enjoyed hiking, camping, bicycling and owned a Yamaha Road Star motorcycle for many years and made several trips around the USA. His favorite activity the last four years was being at the ranch where he could be found mowing the pasture on his tractor, looking forward to a nice Captain Morgan iced libation at the end of the day. The family has requested that any donations be made to your favorite charity.
