Roger Dean Crouse passed away on November 12, 2016 at his home in Lake Jackson, Texas, after a long illness with pulmonary fibrosis. He was surrounded by loving family and friends as he walked with Jesus to be with the Lord.
Roger was born March 12, 1933 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He graduated from Denison, Iowa High School in May of 1951 and joined the U.S. Navy in January 1952. Following a year in Electronic School, he was assigned to a destroyer that operated in both the Atlantic and Pacific.
After retirement, Roger and Jan moved to Lake Jackson, Texas to spend time with their daughter and her husband and three grandchildren. The bonding that took place was a source of great pride and pleasure for Roger and Jan.
Roger leaves behind Jan, his cherished wife for 57 years; daughter Cassie Coon and son-in-law Chris Coon of Richmond, Texas; three grandchildren: Sarah Coon Farney; Katie Coon, and Christopher Coon. He is also survived by a sister Maryln Schwarzenbach and husband Roger of Lucas, Texas; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mearl & Mildred Crouse.
Visitation of Family and Friends will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday November 17 2016 at Restwood Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at Chapelwood First United Methodist Church of Lake Jackson at 11am on Friday November 18 2016, with a reception immediately following.
