There will be a prayer service on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 10:30 a.m., also at Foley Funeral Home. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Hinsdale, will be private at a later date.

Mr. Shaink was born in Drummondville, Canada Aug. 19, 1927, to Eugenie and Augustin Shaink. He was one of nine siblings. Romeo began his working career in logging and later found his niche in carpentry. His talents in carpentry have been passed down for two generations and many of his family members are forever thankful to have learned from one of the best.

Romeo enjoyed reading, fishing and western movies. He lived life his way and is one of the hardest working men to walk this Earth.

Romeo will be sorrowfully missed by his daughter, Lynda Shaink of the Berkshires; and his son, Rock Shaink and his wife, Robin, of Hinsdale. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Rock Shaink of Los Angeles, Calif., Nicholas Shaink and his wife, Melissa, of Belchertown, Mass., Christopher Shaink of Stowe, Vt., Ryan Shaink and his wife, Victoria, of Los Angeles, Calif., Jonathon Shaink and his wife, Jennifer, of Belchertown, Mass., and Ashley, Kyle, Alex and Julian Shaink, all of Hinsdale. He is also survived by his brother, Augustin Shaink of Colorado; and his sisters, Irene and Gertrude of Canada.
