MUNCY, Ronald "Ron", 74, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Ohio Masonic Home where he had resided for the past 4 years. Ron was born in Jacksonville, Florida on September 30, 1942 to Donald and Virginia (nee Clay) Muncy who survive and will cherish his memory and also reside at the Ohio Masonic Home. Also surviving are his sister Diana Glasgow of Springfield. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Billie and their "Chibie", part wolf dog in California. Ron attended elementary schools in Ohio, Michigan and Virginia, graduating from Annandale, Virginia High School in 1960. A gifted pianist, he studied with the late Ralph Zirkle in Springfield and several other teachers in Michigan and Virginia before attending Baldwin Wallace University and graduating from the University of Hawaii in 1965 with a BA Degree in Music, Piano and Organ. After graduation, Ron joined the music faculty of Punahou School, a private college preparatory school in Honolulu as a n instructor in piano where he served for several years. He was also active with several choral and music groups as keyboardist. Ron returned to Sacramento, California in 1975 where he taught piano in his home studio to a host of students and also was a keyboard artist with the popular music group "Beau Melgreen and Liberty". Before his retirement in 2005, he purchased and operated a redwood furniture manufacturing plant for 5 years. Private services and interment will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens at the convenience of Ron's family. Arrangements entrusted to the Tobias Funeral Home, Englewood, Ohio.
