Ronald Eugene "Ronnie" Thompson, 64, of Owensboro, Kentucky died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at his home. He was born July 3, 1947 in Owensboro to the late James Everett and Audrey Mae Thompson. He was previously employed by Medley Distillery and was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting coins and eagle statues. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James E. Thompson, Jr. and by two sisters, Janet Sue Thompson and Judy Thompson. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Anna Dean Thompson; three daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Todd Muffett and Judy and Eddie Stacik all of Owensboro and Rhonda and Greg Brown of Florida; eight grandchildren, Chris Muffett, Kim Muffett, Amber Stacik, Ashley Frank, Krista Brown, Kayla Brown, Chris Brown and Angela Brown; a brother, Michael Thompson and wife, Karla of Owensboro; three sisters, Debbie Covetts and husband, Kenny, Brenda Thompson, and Lisa Thomas and husband, Kelly all of Owensboro and several nieces and nephews. Services are at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2012, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro with Reverend Bruce Treon officiating. Private burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 1:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301.
