Ronald Frank Hollas, 61, of Rosenberg, passed away on February 12, 2014. He was born on July 26, 1952 in Houston, Texas to Wilbert Frank Hollas and Earline Adela Gansky Hollas. He will always be in our hearts along with memories of the love he showered upon his family. He was a graduate of Lamar Consolidated High School, and graduated from Sam Houston State University where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 30 years and was twice elected Grand Knight of Council 2801 in Rosenberg. He was an avid outdoorsman; growing up loving to hunt and fish and passed that same passion for the outdoors on to his children. Ron was happiest when spending time with his family and friends. Whether it was during the holidays or on weekends up at the family farm in Weimar, TX, he loved being around those closest to him. Ron is preceded in death by his father, Wilbert Frank Hollas and godson, Richard Hollas Rogge. Ron is survived by his mother Earline Adela Gansky Hollas; children Dustin Hollas and wife Ashley, Cody Hollas and wife Rebecca, Bryce Hollas and wife Jodi, and daughter Mackenzie Hollas; sisters and brothers in law Carol and Ralph Novosad, Connie and Rick Rogge, Peggy and Mark Brown, Roxie and Paul Strother; grandchildren Jaxson Hollas, Aubrey Hollas, Ava Hollas, Griffin Hollas and two more grandchildren on the way. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly. He will be greatly missed. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, February 17, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Rosenberg, Texas with celebration of mass. A gathering to celebrate his life will follow immediately after the services at the Holy Rosary Parish Family Hall. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a rosary starting at 5:00 p.m., on Sunday, February 16 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made as mass offerings or donations to Holy Rosary Catholic Church or donations to the Knights of Columbus 2801 Scholarship Fund.
