Rose M. D'Alessio (nee Pelaia), 93, of Lakewood, NJ passed on April 14, 2015.

Rose was born October 26, 1921 in Newark, NJ. She married her beloved husband Sam on September 23, 1945 and they had two children, Rosemary Fisher and Steven. The family resided in Belleville and Bloomfield, where Rose worked in several kitchen establishments in the area, including Mrs. Mac's Baking Company, Essex County Vocational School and Blue Cross.

She and Sam retired to Toms River in 1994. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage before Sam's passing in 1994. Over the last ten years, Rose used her long time love of knitting to make blankets for area hospices.

Rose was predeceased by her husband Sam D'Alessio, brothers Fred Pelaia of Hanover, PA and Salvatore Pelaia of Rockaway, NJ.

She is survived by her two children, daugher Rosemary Fisher and her husband David, and son Steven D'Alessio and his wife Nilva all of Lakewood, NJ and her two granddaughters Danielle and Yummy. She is also survived by her brother Carmen Pelaia and his wife Carmela of Randolph, NJ, sisters in law Mary Pelaia (Murphy) of Hanover, PA and Lois Pelaia (Sadlock) of Rockaway, NJ and many nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held at LaMonica Memorial Home, 145 E. Mount Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, NJ on Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 2-6 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, April 20, at 10 am in St. Philomena's Church in Livingston, followed by the interment in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Upper Montclair.
