Roxanna Renae Woerner, a long-time Brevard County teacher who reminded every child they had the potential to be whatever they wanted to be, died unexpectedly on March 1, 2017 in Port St. John, Florida. She was 49.

She was born in La Mesa California Aug. 8, 1967. She attended Madison High School in San Diego, later earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Charter Oak State College. She was a dedicated military wife, devoted mother to her sons, and a committed teacher.

For the past five years, she taught kindergarten at Cambridge Elementary Magnet School in Cocoa, Florida. Mrs. Woerner's legacy will continue as her students carry on her core values of life long learning and caring for others.

Renae is survived by her husband of 26 years James Allan Woerner, two sons William Allan and Jack Anthony, and brother William Arnold. She is preceded in death by her parents, Freddie L. Arnold and Nannette Camfferman.

A viewing will be on March 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wylie Baxley Funeral Home in Merritt Island. A memorial service will follow on March 7, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. also at Wylie Baxley.
