Rudolph Uveges, of Marana, Arizona, went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2018 at Northwest Community Hospital in Tucson, Arizona.
Rudy was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 1, 1926, to parents Ernest and Caroline Uveges. He attended Cleveland's West Technical High School, graduating in January, 1945. Soon after, he enlisted in the Navy. During 1945 - 1946, he served on aircraft carrier CV9 Essex in the Pacific Theater, maintaining Corsair aircraft. On September 30, 1961, he married Ruth Frederking. They lived in the Cleveland area until 1981, when they moved to Phoenix to be near Ruth's parents and siblings. After Ruth's passing in 2011, Rudy accepted an invitation from nephew Tom Kinnaman, and Tom's wife Monica, to live in their home with them. In 2016, he moved to Marana, Arizona with Tom and Monica, where he resided until the time of his passing.
Rudy's interests included playing chess, watching football, baseball and golf. In his younger years he was a competitive amateur golfer. He also enjoyed investing in the stock market, always keeping a close eye on market changes. He actively invested even through the final weeks of his life.
2017 was a wonderful year for Rudy. He attended, and became a member of, New Life Bible Fellowship in Marana. Through his involvement there, he participated in a home fellowship group of 14 other "New Lifers" who loved and cared for him as a member of their "extended family".
Rudy is survived by his brother Ernie, his niece Debbie, and his cousin Ken. Rudy is laid to rest with his wife Ruth at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona.
Throughout Rudy's life, he touched many other people's lives. Literally through sickness and health, he was a faithful, kind, and loving husband. He loved the Lord and trusted Him completely, through the final day of his life. Rudy will be missed!
