Ruth A. (Rose) Simon, 84, passed peacefully on April 7, 2018, in Pueblo, Colo. She was born to Mary Jess and Orin S. Rose on May 4, 1933, in El Paso, Texas. Ruth graduated from Centennial High School, Southern Colorado State College (BA) and earned a Master’s Degree at Adams State College. She retired as a teacher of 25+ years from District 60. She played for Pueblo Ordnance Depot women’s softball team when it won the Class A state softball title in 1952; she was also a winning member of Centennial’s Rifle team. Ruth lived life to the fullest by traveling with friends and family, taking many spontaneous trips throughout the country. She enjoyed bowling with her colleagues, coffee with the group, anything sports; especially the Broncos and attended four Broncos Super Bowls and the LA Olympics. Other loves were her REDDOG convertible, her dogs, and spending time with friends over a cold Coors Light. Preceded in death by her parents, Mary Jess Prior and Orin Rose; stepfather, Walter Prior; and brother, Orin S Rose Jr. Survived by children, Brett (Susan) Simon, Michelle (Joseph) Godri; grandchildren, Katie (Dustin), Philip (Michall) and Ben; cousins, Sister Mary Teresa and Janet Pawlus. A viewing will be held 2 p.m. Saturday April 14, 2018, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel.
