Ruth H. Tremblay, age 91, of Brooksville, FL, died at her daughters home, on September 24, 2017, under the care of HPH Hospice care. Ruth was born on November 14, 1925, in Vauxhall, New Jersey, to the late Anthony and Mary (Czyzewski) Korsan. Ruth moved to St. Petersburg, FL in 1961. Ruth was a Veteran of the US Army Air Corp & Reserves, and worked US Government Department of Defense as a Secretary following her service. Ruth moved to Brooksville in 1993, and she has remained their ever since. Anyone whom knew Ruth knew a few things about her: She loved “BIG” and we mean BIG - bigger than the average human being is capable of. She was forever helping in any way she could. If there was a problem she had a solution — solutions were always on her mind and none were too Big to solve. She loved a party & a get together, especially with her family. Growing up we lived in the house where everyone hung out, and she was that cool, even to our friends whom adorned her and claimed her as their mother too! But, we never really needed anyone else, as just our family had a great time laughing and enjoying each other. She always made it so special, like with our own tiny Easter basket (cupcake cup) at our plate for Easter dinner, and it was always a formal dinner for holidays w/our silver, crystal and good china! Traditions, she loved them and held onto them as long as she could. Our house was the open house at Christmas as friends and family rolled through, no one missed it as she was known for her buffets… and she always had extra room at the table at our family holiday dinners for dear friends like Chuck and Billie and others. Did we mention she loved BIG? Anyone whom knew her heard her say a million times how she loved to DANCE - “she’d rather dance than eat” when she was younger. Ruth loved to laugh and have fun. The other famous sayings our mother used, “break a leg”, “sounds like a winner”,“okie dokie” As we got older she and our dad bought what we refer to as “the cabin” (a piece of land at first) and that’s where we spent weekends, holidays, etc. all the fun moved an hour north of St. Petersburg, hours of swimming, sunburns, camping out, cooking over a fire and then “the cabin was built” — she and our dad loved packing the car on Fridays and heading out for the weekend — so many fun memories of family parties just hanging out, etc. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond G. Tremblay, and son Douglas M. Tremblay. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Claudia M. Tremblay, daughter, Cindy R. Tremblay, son, Kenneth A. Tremblay and his wife Barbie, and daughter, Lisa J. Tremblay, and by her nephew, Robert Korsan and his wife Lynda. As well as Ruth’s Grandchildren: Matthew Tremblay, Sam Tremblay and wife Sybil, Janine Sanders, Jason Tremblay and his wife Jill, Katie Tremblay, Jessica Tremblay, Adam McDow and his wife, Nichole, and Ruth has 9 Great Grandchildren. The family and friends are planning a gathering at the Turner Funeral Homes, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609. The visitation will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2017, from 2-4 PM at the funeral home. The funeral service is planned for 4 PM on Sunday October 1, 2017. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Catholic Charities, for Respite Care.
